In Museum “Eki” KYOTO, we introduce Sekka Kamisaka who played an active part in the Showa era from the Meiji era and Taro Yamamoto playing an active part in the Heisei era.
We are succeeded, and still please see *ha breathing in now by all means.
In commemoration of *ha 400 years and the Super Mario 30th anniversary, we released the latest screen which Japan painter, Taro Yamamoto drew character Mario and Luigi of Super Mario as the modern “god of the wind god of thunder”!
Sekka Kamisaka who revived *hageijutsu in the ground of Kyoto in succession to *ha in modern times. Illustrator, Taro Yamamoto who also succeed to will and design of ancient people in the present age. Unexpected humorous style that anyone has not yet watched is writer’s original sensitivity to be common to two illustrators while following friendliness and dignity of *ha and traditional technique. While rediscover Sekka Kamisaka, step of illustrator of *ha of two called Taro Yamamoto from viewpoint called “work”, and book exhibition to hold to commemorative age for *ha 400 years compares two work on way of *ha which drifts from the past to in the present age and the future; screen axially install, and exhibit work of approximately 100 points including industrial arts.
With RINPA
Art style that was founded in the early period of Edo era by Koetsu Honnami and Sotatsu Tawaraya, and was over the times, and has been succeeded to by original form called “shi*.” We make Miyabi and it is novel and are with boldness, and, as symbol of the Japanese beauty, the country continues being loved from the start in foreign countries up to the present, and the gorgeous design is appreciated. In fields such as ceramics, japanner, metalworking, dyeing that were sai of life of people, we showed high design characteristics, and *hageijutsu which accomplished development in culture of influential townsfolk brought about many perfect gems. Style full of Kourin Ogata, Kenzan brothers, koko*ha such as Hoitsu Sakai, Kiitsu Suzuki, dignity and friendliness including Sekka Kamisaka in modern times and individuality has a big influence on the European Impressionists and modern Japanese painting, design.
Ⅰ Sekka Kamisaka
Sekka Kamisaka is painter, designer who played an active part in Kyoto early in the Showa era in Meiji, the Taisho era and is key person to tie *ha to in the present age from modern times. We reach memory for *ha 400 years, and the refined, detached work attracts attention some other time. This chapter introduces coproduct, industrial art object with company other than short pieces such as Japanese painting and colored paper, face of fan from different angles and looks back on activity of snow Kei who played an active part in many aspects.
Ⅱ Sekka Kamisaka – Taro Yamamoto
In this chapter, we compare modern *ha with modern times and introduce. *ha is art movement that little generation respects work of big generation, and has been succeeded to in imitation, devising, and creating. We built original flow that we took atmosphere in the time and modified while direct master and pupil relations being relationship that there was not and being succeeded, and being repeated, and using the subject and pattern of the previous times.
Ⅲ Taro Yamamoto
Taro Yamamoto who develops humorous work “Japan image” which let modern manners and customs get mixed in in classic picture. The style is named modern *ha. In this chapter, we introduce mainly on work affected by *ha in particular from work that there is number. How motif which is *hamato which has been inherited is arranged in contemporary style is one of the highlight.
