Description
This workshop is a proposal of ideas, concepts and practices that lead to a greater awareness of your body in movement. An understanding on how to better your sense of coordination, spatial awareness and articulate movement to reach a higher level of artistry.
Specific movement and choreographic approaches will be introduced, offering tools and frames for the dancing body to gain clarity and precision on how to engage actively with the surrounding space.

Michael Maurissens
Independant belgian filmmaker, dance and media artist and co-director of the MichaelDouglas Kollektiv, a unique dancers collective that breaks from the standard form of choreographer-led groups within the German dance scene and offers an innovative space for exchange and contemporary creation.
Since 1993, he is conducting a successfull international carrer as a professional dancer and dance pedagogue.
Michael Maurissens graduated with best mentions in visual medias in September 2013 from the Academy of Media arts in Cologne, his studies focused on scenography, applied visual arts and documentary filmmaking.
Since 2010 Michael Maurissens, directs and produces films, experimental video works, performance documentations and involves himself in collaborative art projects.
