About
‘The Bride’s Stories’ is set in Central Asia during mid-19th Century and depicts the ‘Otoyome’ (beautiful brides) encountered by the English traveler Mr. Smith. Manga artist Kaoru Mori began the series in 2008 and it continues to be a popular work to this day. In addition to the fascinating characters and stories, and the gorgeous meticulously drawn artwork, this manga also vividly expresses the culture and life of Central Asia in which it is set, and it has garnered support from a wide range of fans.
In the exhibition ‘The Bride’s Stories by Kaoru Mori’ you can take your time to enjoy the magnificent world of the brides through a collection of more than 100 impressive original drawings, featuring black and white manga manuscripts and color artwork.
Please come to experience the escapades of the Smith party, the main protagonist Amir and other brides, as well as the atmosphere of Central Asia, through Kaoru Mori’s hand-drawn illustrations.
