In recent years, Japanese manga and anime has grown increasingly popular gaining more fans overseas and representing Japanese culture. Cosplay (impersonating a character) is popular among many people both in Japan and overseas. Recently, camera men (know as Kameko) have not only started featuring cos-players but have also produced high-quality works of them.
At this exhibition, the Kyoto International Manga Museum is showing paneled works based on the photobook “Non-Art Cosplay Photography” with 9 photographers who represented their photo works as refined arts. Please come and immerse yourself in the view of beautiful world.
