Overview

Mototsugu Domoto (1923-2010) was born in Kyoto, Japan. In 1941, he entered Kyoto City Technical School of Painting (present Kyoto City University of Arts) with the intention of becoming a Japanese-style painter. He was graduate early two years then went to the war (World War II). After the war, he began his career as a painter and challenged to work in various art genres under the influence of Insho Domoto.
In this exhibition, we look back at his painting career, who lived during and after the war, introducing representative works from the postwar period. And also works of painters with whom he was friends during his school days.
