Introduction
Creating lithograph works from SF dramas under creation.
This lithography exhibition by Haruka Matsumoto is a part of an ongoing playwriting project. She created images reacting to a play “KAORAMA” written by Shuntaro Matsubara.
Two playwrights, Shuntaro Matsubara and Kensuke Yamamoto started 3 years project in 2016, aiming to write new plays that are not necessarily expected to be performed at the end with no need to be bothered by its practicality. By taking a rather long period of time, they try to write down words as a way of surviving in a fast-changing world, through a theme of “Science Fiction -the future never come”.
As the project comes closer to the end, Matsubara asked lithographer, Matsumoto to put the play into lithography. Matsumoto often combines newspapers or small articles with the found images in everyday scenery or her own physical sense, to create images mixed between fiction and reality, which could have a similarity to staging plays. Her works would visualize what has not been realized yet.
