About
Yasuo Kiyonaga photo exhibition “Togakushi’s Tools” is held at Kyoto Museum of Photography Gallery Japanesque 2F“Hana” From Fri., Jan 19 to Sun., Feb 25 2018.
Various daily tools around us that were used as usual for some years ago.
In the folk museum (or storehouse of rural farmers, etc.),
from something that seems familiar to things that I do not know how to use it,
many tools that are no longer used are sleeping.
This is a photo book that contained photographs of shape and functional beauty of the tools by author who was fascinated by its rustic beauty, with full cooperation of Togakushi Folk Museum in Nagano prefecture.
Agricultural tools, furniture, clothes, tableware, toys, festival equipment …….
They are just the lives of the former Japanese people.
In other words, this is also valuable documnet that also recorded the culture such as lifestyles, ceremonies and events being lost little by little.
