OPEN CALL and THE JURY for Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition 2019

【Application Overview】
Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition (Charlottenborg Foraarsudstilling) is one of the most important open submission exhibitions in Northern Europe, and has been held annually at Charlottenborg in Copenhagen since 1857. The Spring Exhibition originated as an exhibition showing new works by Danish artists and now features participants from many countries. The exhibition allows a considerable number of artists to participate with new works and has over the years provided the first significant platform for many emerging artists, while also presenting important new pieces by more established figures. Throughout the history of the Spring Exhibition artists, who are renowned international figures today, has either debuted or presented some of their early works, including Olafur Eliasson, Alvar Aalto, Jørn Utzon, Charlotte Haslund-Christensen, Per Kirkeby, Jasmina Cibic, Jeppe Hein, Vilhelm Hammershøi and many others.

Submissions to the Spring Exhibition 2019 can be made by artists, regardless of background, education and nationality, aged over 18 years. Submitted artworks may fall into a wide range of genres associated with art, architecture and design—including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, video, film, performance, design, craft, animation, sound and new media.
